Hey folks!

Just a quick post to let you all know that I’m still alive, still receiving comments, and still very much constantly thinking about this comic and the people waiting for new pages. Thanks to everyone for being civil and respectable during this brief hiatus, I really appreciate your patience and understanding!

Here’s a quick little doodle of kid Chase and Sue I managed to swing whilst working on my portfolio.

So, the low-down! Those of you who follow my Twitter, my blog, or my DeviantArt, know that I am in my third year at Sheridan, which means of course… GROUP FILM! *crashing thunder and lightning* All of my time has been devoted to this lately, and now that we have passed the story stage, we’ll be heading into full-time production and I will be even busier. In addition, this summer is our co-op placement at various studios around the world and we are all rushing to put together impressive portfolios, resumes, and demo reels. It has been an altogether busy year and 2012, at least for the next few months, is looking much the same.

I don’t know when the next page is coming, but it will come. In the meantime, I’ll upload whatever Awakened art I manage to produce.

So stay tuned! I’ll continue to post updates on my blog and DA and hopefully once we’ve got this film finished, pages will again be forthcoming.

Woo, made it just in time!

Okay, there won’t be an update for a couple of weeks as I am heading off to SCOTLAND, WOOO! Our long summer of work at the school has come to an end, and now we get to enjoy a brief getaway before Year 3 of Animation starts (yes I pretty much live at Sheridan).

And here’s another page that wasn’t in the early script. Decided it was necessary to throw in a transition at the end of this scene to make the start of the next one a little less jarring. And yeah, I know, textless pages are so very boring. But there’s a lot to look at, ehhh?

For those out there who don’t quite grasp the idea of metaphors or surrealist art (there have been a few encounters), no, Sue isn’t three feet taller than Chase, and no, the world isn’t ending with the abrupt introduction of a gravity-defying, fiery, spiral-y hell scenario.

So! I thought I would be super awesome/super lame and do what all the other cool comics are doing by starting a Formspring account for comic-related Q&A. Feel free to ask me questions about the comic or the characters, or if you’re feeling extra clever you can direct your questions to the characters themselves.

The only questions I won’t be answering will be those regarding the old version of the comic. I’ve said all I can really say about that, so let’s focus on the here and now, shall we?

I’ve been waiting for this page for a while, even if it was added to the new script later. Think it becomes very necessary toward the end of Chapter One. OooOoOoh!

Phew!

Sorry for the wait, folks. Been a busy few weeks. I visited my family for Canada Day, had my brother down for a week, went to a reunion, and then headed off to Ottawa to see the Lion King (super fantastic amazing). Needless to say, my weekends have not been free for colourin’ time. But I’ll be around from now until the end of August, so with luck nothing else should prevent me from updating.

Poor bully’s been hanging in the lurch for nearly a month. You may proceed, Sue.

Aaaand, the first page officially showing Ruse. Hello Ruse! Such a happy fellow.

I had a little too much fun with this page. I was trying to work out designs for the bullies, and I was fairly certain I wanted the main bully to look like a certain person I met once upon a time with a very similar personality (no, this person is not a friend, for obvious reasons). Then through chattin’ with my bud Annie it was decided that the other two bullies really HAD to be other people I/we know (and these ones ARE our friends).

So having had such fun, it’s likely people who know me will now find themselves caricatured at some point or another in this comic. BEWAAAAARE!
