So whilst on break at work, I asked my co-workers what they found creepy or disturbing. I received suggestions such as featureless faces, broken bones, clusters of holes, gooey stuck-together mouths, multiple legs, and various skin infections (more specifically, STDs, but in this particular page you’ll have to use your imagination).
The purple monster was a mix of all these suggestions, after which I drew some random veiny Bean Heads.
The random veiny Bean Heads ended up being creepier.
Also, Bean Heads is fun to say.
Cheers,
Sarah Anne Davis
(Who actually got some more comic writing done this weekend. Oh yeah!)

That is not how you get popular in school, Chase.
Beeeean heeeads!
Those bean heads look like something straight out of Silent Hill. Nightmare fuel!
For the love of all that is holy, wake that boy up already! It’s actually starting to hurt to see him go through this stuff.
Consider ratcheting-up the tryphobia a bit more.

Another thing that always creeped me the fuck out was the old fantasy/horror staple of a being that is covered with eyes. Hits the tryphobia buttons in a nice, organic, down-in-the-gut creepy kind of way.
Oh Chase you poor lad.
I wish I could give him a big comforting hug. But of course I’d just be another monster to him. °^°
I love the Bean Heads and the teeth in panel 3.
You’d probably break him like a twig. No muscle whatsoever on that kid…
I don’t understand why, but the fifth panel is my favorite. One of the most normal (er, least weird) ones, and it’s my favorite.
SO am I the only new reader here? ‘Cause everyone else is like: ‘Oh, big monster things. Oh look! Sue balloons!’ And I’m like: ‘KASFLJSJS;FFJ BIG MONSTER THINGS!!!’
D:
I miss Chase’s big brother, and the filler strip that he starred in once upon a time before the comic was restarted. That odd, inane man.
I think i’m one of the only people who’s read this(and the previous version)who isn’t actually freaked out by the monsters….hmmm, i guess i have too many nightmares or something! D:
