Ah good. We have Chase, and now we have Sue, and the world makes a little more sense.
Chase’s hometown is never really mentioned by name, but it’s definitely somewhere in Southern Ontario. Maybe someplace starting with the letter E. Could be. Hmmmm.
The song is by Madness (I’m sure that’s only a coincidence), and yes the name of the cereal was inspired by Flight of the Conchords, because if you party with the Party Prince, you get two complimentary after-dinner mints.
And now to get on those character bios…
Cheers,
Sarah Anne Davis
(Wondering if anyone else saw the creepy Tintin profile in the last panel of the previous page. Thanks, Andrew, for making me question my subconscious that little bit more.)

Ah, Sue was always my favorite character, probably because she’s everything i wish i could be <3
Yay Sue page!!! I like Sue. She dresses like me. I like the amount of blue in this page, but mostly I like the musical notes, for some reason, ahha.
SUGAR LUMPS?! I see you girls, checkin— actually, I’m not going to sing that.
And nooooow I have to listen to that song. >8(
Hah, Flight of the Concords, basically the only New Zealanders known overseas for something other than sport. I’m a kiwi you see, so you referencing them makes me happy! :3
Also, yeah, it’s Sue, she’s so happy and positive… SHE IS THE POSITIVITY FAIRY.
I hated those bounce things when I was a kid. I never got the hang of it and I always ended up damaging myself.
I was always so jealous of my friends who had Pogoballs. Then I found one at a garage sale, tried it, and wished I’d just blown my dollar on a jumprope instead. ;P
Are they in….Etobicoke?!
You can always tell a person is happy when the music notes following them make a complete rainbow :)
I can’t believe I didn’t notice that this restarted! It’s good to see it back and running <3 You've no idea how much I missed it D:
There seems to be a ray of light following Sue. Foreshadowing, maybe? *ponders*
So… I have no idea as to how long it has been, but the original of this comic had been one that stayed in my mind ever since I read it on KeenSpot (right?).
I remember spending at least three hours on a random day trying to find it again after my laptop got reformatted- but with zero results, and the memory of the art and story was all that I had.
Needless to say, I had fallen quite in love with everything about the comic and ceased searching for it after many fruitless attempts.
Sometime near the end of last year, I clicked the link going to this site (I forgot where…) without really looking at it and bookmarked it as a potential read whenever I found the time. And it’s been awhile since I had bothered to actually open the link. I was |this| close to removing the bookmark b/c I forgot why I bothered bkmrk’ing it in the first place.
It is a very good thing I didn’t. Because I found The Awakened again after so long! I know it’s been awhile because I couldn’t remember the name of the comic, just the story and that for some reason the main character turned into a wolf.
I’m thrilled at the change of appearances (confused at first), the addition of panes, the art has most definitely changed for the better, and I CANNOT wait for another update!
I had such hope that this would be the comic I remembered, and I was not disappointed! Thank you for first posting it on KeenSpot way back whenever, and thank you for posting it here now!
Aww, your story made me smile. ^^
I’m really glad you managed to find The Awakened again! And your timing was perfect too. Hope you continue to enjoy, and thanks very much for the kind words! :3
And poor Chase’s life still appears to suck. But Sue remains awesome and that’s all that matters.
An “E”, eh? Well, as long as they don’t live in Brampton. Chase has got enough to deal with without that, too!
sugah lumps
I love the colours you used in this Saraaaah, they’re so happy and fun. JUST LIKE SUE who would’a thunk.
and yes, I did just reread your entire comic over again. WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT
I like how a ray of sunshine literally follows her.
So how do you get a permament non-rain zone following you, because that would be awesome.
She looks like fun. I want to be her friend. (Actually no, she’d probably drive me crazy, but whatever.)
I just noticed it’s not raining around Sue. Foreshadowing?
