UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!

Careful now, don’t get too close. The comic may have gone feral since last it was paid attention to. But, hopefully, with a little time and care and cookies, it will learn to trust us again.
OKAY. So, this is the new first page of what I am going to call my OFFICIAL second attempt at The Awakened. I have been at Sheridan College for nearly three years now, am heading into my second term of my second year in Animation, and felt that I had simply learned far too much since my first attempt at this comic. This is a project I hold very dear to my heart, and to have left it in the state it was in really just felt wrong.
Now, I am perfectly aware that an artist could conceivably redo something again and again forever and ever, for the rest of their lives and into the great beyond because an artist is always changing and improving. BUT, I am willing to accept that having benefited from an amazing school and fantastic teachers, I am at a point that I can at least look back on these pages one day and think “Yeah, well, I had no excuse at that point.”
BUT ANYWAY. As for these first few updates, and what to expect from here on in:
I will be posting three pages starting today (Sunday, January 9th), which serve as a little introduction to the new Chapter One. Tomorrow I will post another, and one more on Tuesday. AFTER THIS, UPDATES WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAYS.
I will do my very best to keep this schedule, though I will state for the record that I *am* still in an intense degree program, and my homework will come first. Regardless, when I update, it will be on a Monday, and I will announce said update on the Awakened Twitter.

Woo-hoo! Welcome back to the world! =D I’ve been reading your comic for a while now, and now that you’ve installed ComicPress proper, I can finally get a real RSS feed out of you. ^-^
That said, I’m really digging this page. Your schooling has taught you well – the colors really feel palpable and the layout is very eye-catching. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings us!
Also – are the various About pages going to be up soon? I know you have schoolwork and the comic itself to worry about, but I do so enjoy About pages. =)

And yup, haha, the About pages should be coming up shortly. I’ll be filling in the Character Bios as each character is introduced, but the others I’ll try and pop up sometime today or tomorrow. ;D

OMG YES. I’ve been stalking you on dA waiting impatiently for this to get rolling again! So excite! I love the watercolor looking effect, gives the entire page a beautiful texture. :)

Wow, I’ve had the old version bookmarked forever at the latest page. I hadn’t really checked it in ages, but I’ve been clearing out my webcomics folder so I did today. Finding no new pages (or thinking such, as from that page there was no ‘next’ comic), I went to the homepage to see if there were any news postings or anything to indicate whether it would be updated in the future, and found this.
tl;dr: my timing is awesome.

OMG! I’m so happy that this comic is back. I actually can’t remember how long we’ve all been waiting but it seems like an eternity but yayayayayyayayayay. This is definitely one of my favorite comics to read and I can’t wait to see what new things we’re all in store for!
It does seem like forever, doesn’t it? Haha. I’m really happy to be back, and it’s put a big smile on my face to know so many people have been waiting for me. D’aww. <3

Eeee! I’m so excited! Wow, has it really been years since I discovered this comic? I’m so glad it’s continuing.
Also, it may seem strange, but I’d like to add how lovely it is to hear of a good art experience in a college. It seems like everywhere I look all I see is evidence that school and art do not mix no matter what. It’s very nice to hear otherwise. :)

Been reading this comic for quite a while (over at least 1 year) and am glad to hear you’re feeling more confident about your work. Just to say, though, the old version was pretty awesome as it was :). Are you going to upload those somewhere on the site later on?
